Prompting: Asking Better Questions
A prompt is more than a question — it’s context. When working with AI, the quality of the response is shaped directly by how clearly intent, scope, and expectations are expressed. Vague prompts often lead to generic answers, while thoughtful prompts guide the AI toward depth, relevance, and insight.
Strong prompts tend to share a few traits: they provide background, specify the perspective or angle of interest, and signal the kind of output desired. Instead of asking “What is this about?”, a better approach might be “Explain this concept in historical context and note any symbolic interpretations.” The goal isn’t verbosity — it’s clarity.
Writing Effective Prompts for Shatter the Veil
Shatter the Veil is designed for exploration, not just answers. When writing prompts, think in terms of discovery rather than fact retrieval. Prompts that reference themes, relationships, symbolism, or historical parallels tend to surface more interesting material from the knowledgebase.
For example, instead of asking “Tell me about Atlantis,” try “Compare Atlantis narratives across ancient sources and later esoteric traditions.” You can also guide the system by stating your goal: “I’m researching this for a video,” or “Help me find overlooked connections.” Treat the prompt as a conversation starter — the clearer the intent, the richer the results.
